Our Clients
At Alta, our clients are our partners. We know that our success and theirs go hand in hand and we always strive to produce measurable results to help their associations continue to grow.
We are proud of the successes of our Client/Partner associations. Here are just some of the many accomplishments that they have achieved under our tenure.
Hospitality Industry Relations
We worked on behalf of GPHA on the 63% expansion of the Pennsylvania Convention Center which was the largest public works project in the history of Pennsylvania. We have maintained strong relationships with hospitality sector organizations including the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau and Visit Philadelphia.
Government Affairs
We helped save each Philadelphia hotel millions of dollars in taxes by defeating a measure that would have changed the Business Privilege Tax in Philadelphia.
Special Projects
Alta was very involved in the World Meeting of Families and Papal Visit that took place in Philadelphia in September 2015. We worked closely with the U.S. Secret Service, Pennsylvania State Police, the Mayor of Philadelphia, and the Archdiocese of Philadelphia to make sure hospitality employees were able to get to work. We also made sure deliveries were made to hotels and restaurants around the clock during the biggest operation in the history of the U.S. Secret Service.
Strategic Planning
When we first brought on BOMA Philadelphia as a client, we developed and implemented a new Strategic Plan to align BOMA’s goals, improve operations, and increase membership.
Membership Engagement
Under our leadership, BOMA’s membership has increased by 70%. This is in part due to our plan to enhance and redesign events and programming. The result has been greater participation, attendance, and camaraderie among the members, as well as an increase in event revenue.
Financial Management
Alta set up an accounting system from scratch and helped to establish better practices that allowed BOMA to collect on past due invoices. We continue to help manage BOMA’s costs by shopping service providers to find the best quality for the best prices.
Communications
BOMA Philadelphia recently unveiled a new and improved website. The website overhaul includes a user-friendly member portal, a more aesthetically pleasing and easier to navigate layout, and a better integration of event registration capabilities. Our staff hosted several webinars to help guide members through the new features of the website and help them learn to use the new member portal.
Establishing the PHiL
Alta took the lead in the formation of the PHiL, getting Philadelphia City Council to pass a bill to establish the levy in 2017. The assessment is on hotels’ guest room rental revenue and the collected funds are used to bring new business to the City of Philadelphia.
Financial Management
Alta maintains the finances for the PHiL which in its first year, 2018, will collect millions of dollars in assessments. The funds are then used to attract conventions and events to the City which have a measurable return on investment to the local hotels.
